MAUI AQUARIUM SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS
Hammerhead Harbor introduces you to the hammerhead sharks with distinctive head structure that is flattened and resembles a hammer. These magnificent creatures are known for their predatory hunting maneuvers. It is a pleasure to watch as they swim around searching for prey under rocks and buried into the sand.
Turtle Lagoon is an outdoor exhibit that permits you to see turtles up-close. You can see them basking on the sand, playing in the water or lazily swimming in the warm sun. Turtles are a protected species in Hawaii and this exhibit is one of the few ways to observe their behavior from a close distance.
Behind-The Scenes is a theme park style display that shows you the intricate details of how exhibits at the Maui Aquarium operate behind the scenes. The eco-friendly Maui Ocean Center uses water pumped from the ocean and typically rotates marine animals in a catch and release mechanism.
